Getting divorced in the public eye can be very difficult. Divorce is an intensely personal, emotionally difficult process. Going through it with the media following every court filing and rumor must make it that much more unpleasant.

However, divorce documents are often part of the public record. A high-profile divorce can give us insight into the process of coming up with a settlement when the marital property is highly substantial. It is always possible to do so, if the parties are willing and able to cooperate.

Celebrity gossip fans in New York surely know that Olympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner and Kardashian family matriarch Kris Jenner began divorce proceedings in September. Headline News Network reports that the couple has finalized their divorce.

According to an article on the subject, Kris Jenner will keep the family home, with Bruce retaining any separate residences in his name. Bruce will keep a Porsche, Cadillac SUV and a motorcycle, while Kris gets a Rolls Royce, Bentley and Land Rover.

As far as cash, Kris Jenner will keep all personal and business bank accounts, except for $2.5 million which she will pay to Bruce, who will also receive half the interest from their joint bank accounts. Kris will also assume responsibility and liability for all “partnerships and business interest” they created during the marriage.

Finally, each spouse will keep their own airline miles.

The couple has one minor child, a 17-year-old girl. They will share custody, and neither parent will receive child support. Instead, each parent will be solely responsible for her expenses while she is in their respective custody.
